A Note on Gender and This Work

This work uses two tracks: White Girl Rehab and White Dude Rehab.

Those names are intentional. They name the specific social constructions that white supremacy assigns -- not biological categories, not permanent identities, but the roles the myth trained people to perform from childhood. The tracks are built around how the myth socialized participants, not around the identity they currently hold.

If you are gender non-conforming, non-binary, or trans, you may be wondering where you fit. That is a fair question and it deserves a direct answer.

The model: self-selection

You choose the track that best reflects where you have the most practice masking.

The myth socialized most people into a binary experience, even if their current identity is not binary. The question to sit with is not which gender you identify as now. It is: in white spaces, in white institutions, in the conditions the myth created -- which gender were you most conditioned to perform? Where did you do the most work hiding, shrinking, performing, or suppressing in order to belong?

That is the track where the work will land most directly.

There is no wrong answer. There is no gatekeeping. You know your own history better than any structure can.

On gender policing

Gender will not be policed in either track. Any harm that arises in these spaces will be treated the way all harm is treated in this ecosystem – with accountability, not punishment, and with the understanding that it is usually whiteness doing the harm, not gender identity.

An honest acknowledgment

This ecosystem is in its first public season. The two-track structure reflects the reality of how the myth operates for the majority of people who will engage with this work in 2026. It does not reflect every experience, and it does not pretend to.

A third track for gender non-conforming and non-binary white folx is not available right now. That is a capacity decision, not a values decision. The calendar and the resources do not support it in this season.

What this ecosystem can promise is this: the more that is learned from the people who move through this work, the better it will become at holding all of them. This page exists so that commitment is on record, not just intended.

If you have thoughts, questions, or experiences you want to share about how this structure lands for you, the newsletter is the place to send them. Kim reads every reply.
